“Ultra-Retaining Concrete” Technology Receives Technical Performance Certification

The “Ultra-Retaining Concrete” technology jointly developed by Hanil Cement and Hanil Industrial has received technical performance certification in the architectural and construction materials field from the Korean Institute of Building Construction.
The certified technology is named “Ultra-Retaining Concrete Technology Capable of Maintaining Flowability for Extended Periods by Improving the Fine Powder Sensitivity of Aggregates Using Low-Molecular-Weight CMA and a Flowability Modifier.”
In conventional ready-mixed concrete manufacturing, concrete quality can be easily affected when aggregates such as sand and gravel contain large amounts of fine powder. In contrast, applying the newly certified technology reduces quality changes caused by fine powder. This helps prevent material segregation in the ready-mixed concrete mixture and ensures stable early strength in buildings.
Ultra-Retaining Concrete was developed by combining Hanil Industrial’s admixture formulation technology with Hanil Cement’s cement material technology. Its advantage is that it can maintain flowability for up to three hours after production, even during periods of extreme heat with an average temperature of 35°C. Compared with conventional concrete, which begins to harden if it is not poured within 90 minutes, it provides more than twice the working time, making it optimized for on-site pouring in urban areas where traffic congestion is frequent. In addition, production mixes can be adjusted according to the season, enabling construction with consistent quality throughout the year regardless of climatic conditions.
