Hanil Cement and Hanil Hyundai Cement took
part in the “2025 Research Delegation on Japan’s Senior Workforce Management
System” organized by the Korea Employers Federation (KEF). The four-day program
was held in Tokyo from June 18 to 21, with participation from Hanil Cement
Managers Jung Hyun-jung and Lee Yong-hyuk, as well as Union Secretary-General
Eom Ho-jun of Hanil Cement and Ryu Ji-ho of Hanil Hyundai Cement.
During the visit, the delegation met with
the Japan Institute for Labour Policy and Training (JILPT), Keidanren (Japan
Business Federation), and Rengo (Japan’s largest labor union confederation) to
gain insights into Japan’s continued employment system and related policy
directions.
They also visited major Japanese companies
such as Nissan Motor Co. and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT)
to observe best practices in senior workforce management firsthand.
This study tour was designed to help Korean
companies respond to labor market changes driven by rapid population decline
and aging. By learning from Japan—already a super-aged society—the participants
gained valuable knowledge on senior workforce utilization. Based on these
advanced case studies, Hanil Cement and Hanil Hyundai Cement plan to develop
strategic approaches for managing senior employees in the future.
