Hanil Cement published the "2021 Sustainable Management Report" containing the outcomes of ESG (environmental, social, governance) management activities of last year as well as future directions.

Through this report, Hanil Cement presented five focus fields of ESG and provided the activity details, outcomes, and future goals and strategies for each sector.

The main ESG fields are ▲Climate Action ▲Health and Safety ▲Sustainable Innovation ▲Collaboration ▲Integrity. In particular, this report detailed the roadmap for the mid- to long-term reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

In accordance with the national greenhouse gas reduction strategy, it plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2018 by 30% in 2030 and by 60% in 2050. It also intends to achieve net zero by 2050 through research on and realization of carbon capturing, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies.

CEO Jeon Gun-sik explained the goal of publishing the report. “With the publication of this sustainable management report, we will look for opportunities for sustainable growth in not only financial numbers but also non-financial value such as ESG and continue to communicate with stakeholders to implement this,” he said.
