From June 9 to 12, Cemtech Asia 2025 was
held in Seoul and Danyang, hosted by CemNet, a UK-based global authority on the
cement industry. This marked the first time the international cement conference
was held in Korea.
Centered on the theme “Decarbonization of
the Cement Industry,” the event brought together over 300 global cement
experts, who presented 25 research papers over the course of the conference.
On the final day, June 12, around 40
participants—including CemNet Chairman Thomas Armstrong—visited Hanil Cement’s
Danyang Plant. The visit began at 10 a.m. with a briefing on the plant’s
current operations. Attendees received an overview of Hanil’s eco-friendly
facilities and management plans, followed by a Q&A session.
Participants also toured the Hanil history
museum, H-STORY, where they learned about the company’s history and vision. The
plant tour included key facilities such as the kiln and ECO power generation
system. Particular interest was shown in the newly completed alternative fuel
storage facility, which was highlighted as a leading example of sustainable
infrastructure.
