Hanil Cement won the head of the fire department award by finishing second at the “Firefighting Skills Competition” where eight resident companies of the Port of Pyeongtaek Dangjin, a manmade port, participated on February 26. The competition evaluates the initial response and division of roles by self-defense firefighting members and appropriateness of firefighting plans in consideration of facility characteristics when selecting outstanding companies. The top 3 were: Kyung Dong Tank Terminal in first place, Hanil Cement in second place, and OCI in third place. Along with the awarding ceremony, firefighting operation boards detailing the status of firefighting equipment and dangerous materials as well as how to extinguish fire were given to and attached at participating companies. “With this award, we will continue to do our best in preventing fire and strengthening our initial on-site response capabilities,” Hanil Cement said.
