Hanil Cement was ranked #1 in the Portland cement sector and dry mortar & ready mixed concrete sector at the “2023 Korea Quality Satisfaction Index (KS-QEI) Awards” hosted by the Korean Standards Association on Oct. 20.

Hanil Cement achieved the feat of winning the award 14 years in a row in the Portland cement sector after being inducted in the hall of fame in 2019. Continuous effort is being put into cement quality management where all workplaces acquired the “ISO 9001” certification for the first time in the industry in 2004. The Danyang factory, which is the first factory, produces a high-quality system equipped with 6 rotary kilns and an automated system controlled with cutting-edge technology.

Additionally, Remitar was ranked #1 for the 15th consecutive year. Following the establishment of the research lab in 1987, product development has been carried out continuously based on the trends of the construction industry and customer demands, leading the market by releasing premium plaster Remitar products that reduced packaging by 40% compared to the existing packaging. A nationwide production base and sales network is being established in the Gyeonggi, Central/Gangwon, Yeongnam, and Jeolla/Jeju areas, equipped with unique competitiveness through a bulk supply system using patented portable SILOs. Additionally, an excellent safety and health environment is being secured in the workplace such as acquiring the international occupational health and safety management system certification “ISO 45001” for 7 dry mortar workplaces.

ISO certification was acquired in the quality sector (ISO 9001) and environment sector (ISO 14001) as well as more than 80 patents for all workplaces, and ready-made concrete was ranked #1 for 4 consecutive years by leading the development of the industry through continuous technology development. Along with Korea's first 100 MPa super high strength on-site casting, the development of the world's first super high-flowing concrete with slump flow of over 850 mm was successful, and the entire process of environmental impact occurring from production was transparently released, receiving Environmental Product Declaration (low-carbon product) certification that aims at environmental improvement, etc. to support customers’ eco-friendly consumption.

The Korea Quality Satisfaction Index is a general index that investigates and releases the excellence of quality and satisfaction targeting customers who purchased or used products by a specific company or product experts. Hanil Cement received good reviews in the usage quality sector (performance, reliability, durability, usability, safety, accessibility) and the affective quality sector (image, recognition, novelty).
