Hanil Cement was selected as the Most Respected Company in Korea by the Korean Management Association Consulting for the fourteenth consecutive time in 2017. In particular, the company placed at the top in all six areas including innovative capability, shareholder values, employee values, and image values, strengthening its status as the company that leads Korean cement industry. This achievement is the result of Hanil Cement’s continued efforts in environmental management such as producing eco-friendly products, recycling resources, and using energy efficiently, in addition to social contributions such as volunteer services in food kitchens and briquette delivery, as well as blood donation events. All of these efforts came together to build a reputation for Hanil that it is a company practicing sustainable management.

These efforts won Hanil the honor of being designated as the Green Company by the Ministry of Environment for two consecutive times in 2011 and 2014, which is first of such achievement in the cement industry and a rare one in the manufacturing industry overall. In 2015, Portland Cement, produced in the company’s Danyang Plant, was recognized as the top-grade eco-friendly construction material. In addition, Hanil Cement successfully completed experimental production of Low-Carbon Green Cement, with reduced the use of limestone in comparison to conventional portland cement, and lower calcination temperature, which ultimately cutting carbon dioxide emission, that is the main reason for greenhouse effect.
