On October 28, 2025, Hanil Cement was recognized as No. 1 in three categories—Portland Cement, Dry Mortar, and Ready-Mix Concrete—at the 2025 Korea Satisfaction Index (KS-QEI), hosted by the Korea Standards Association.
In the Portland Cement category, Hanil Cement celebrated its 16th consecutive win, following its 2019 induction into the Hall of Fame. Since its founding in 1961, the company has grown alongside the Korean economy, producing cement and related products. Hanil Cement has consistently led the domestic cement industry through over 60 years of accumulated expertise, including being the first in the industry to achieve ISO 9001 certification at all production sites in 2004. The Danyang Plant operates with an annual production capacity of 8.1 million tons and is advancing CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) technologies as part of its goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, alongside ongoing investments in environmentally friendly facilities, such as nitrogen oxide reduction equipment.
In the Dry Mortar category, Remital was recognized as No. 1 for 17 consecutive years. Since the establishment of its Technology Research Center in 1987, Hanil Cement has continuously developed products tailored to evolving construction site needs, including FS500 Remital (no plastering required), FS150 and FS600 HD Remital for high-strength flooring that reduces inter-floor noise and prevents defects, and the eco-friendly tile adhesive Hi-Poxy, further strengthening its quality competitiveness.
In the Ready-Mix Concrete category, Hanil Cement, together with its affiliate Hanil Industry, operates 20 ready-mix concrete plants nationwide, establishing a multi-regional supply system. The company has expanded eco-friendly technologies through high-strength/high-flow concrete development and low-carbon concrete certification, while actively providing on-site quality management services by visiting customer sites.
The Korea Satisfaction Index (KS-QEI) evaluates both consumer and expert feedback on product excellence and satisfaction. Hanil Cement received high marks in functional quality (performance, reliability, durability, usability, safety, accessibility) and emotional quality (brand image, recognition, innovation).
In addition, CEO Jeon Gun-sik of Hanil Cement was honored with the newly established Quality Merit CEO Award. This award, introduced this year by the Korea Standards Association, recognizes CEOs whose leadership and commitment to quality management have contributed to national industrial development. CEO Jeon is the first-ever recipient of this award.
