Hanil Cement was selected as the No. 1 company in eco-friendly cement in the '2021 Consumer Well-being Environmental Satisfaction Index (KS-WEI)' hosted by the Korean Standards Association (KSA) held at the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul on June 24.

In the eco-friendly cement category, which was established for the first time this year, Hanil Cement was ranked first in the categories of environmental friendliness, customer satisfaction, and social responsibility. The Consumer Well-being Environmental Satisfaction Index selects 326 brands from 101 product and service groups. They surveyed and evaluated 5 items (health function · environmental friendliness · safety · customer satisfaction · social responsibility) targeting 65,200 consumers who had experience using products and services.

Hanil Cement has an eco-friendly plant in its Danyang Plant, a cement production plant, that uses recycled resources and recycled fuel as well as alternative energy for waste heat generation facilities using waste heat from cement kilns. It was also selected as a green company by the Ministry of Environment for 4 consecutive years beginning in 2011. In May last year, the first-class Portland cement produced at the Danyang Plant obtained the 'Environmental Product Declaration'.

They have low-carbon products and Environmental Product Declaration certificates for 3 items in the 'Remitar' line, a dry mortar product that is a cement mixture, and 9 types of ready-mixed concrete. There are products that reduce noise between floors and generate less dust. They also launched '25kg Premium Remitar for Plastering', which is lighter than the existing cement packaging (40kg).

In addition, they established a volunteer group 'WITH' in 2011 to create and share happiness together, and they are regularly serving food for the elderly in the metropolitan area every month. In addition, they carry out various volunteer activities such as delivering briquettes, blood donation, and planting trees.
