The Korea Cement Association hosted the 45th Cement Symposium for two days from June 28, 2018, in conjunction with celebrations for the 55th anniversary of the organization. Hosted in Lakai Sandpine Resort located in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, this event was attended by around three hundred executives, employees, and academics from nine Korean cement companies and other institutions. During the event, Danyang Plant manager Lee Hyeong-wu received a citation from the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy, for his contributions to the development of the cement industry, while Yeoju Plant Product Management Team lead Seo Sin-seok received the Korea Cement Association Chairman’s Award. Company president Gwak Eui-yeong attended the event to congratulate the anniversary of the association, in addition to encouraging the employees and celebrating their achievements. Cement Symposium is an event to present the results of research on cement production technologies, quality improvement, energy-saving, and other cement-related areas, in addition to sharing the recent technological breakthroughs. The symposium has been contributing to the improvement of competitiveness for companies in the industry.
