On May 28, Hanil Cement became the first company in the cement industry to employ the Compliance Program, which provides clear guidelines for the executives and employees on compliance to fair trade laws, thereby improving their voluntary legal compliance and ethical awareness.
Hanil Cement hosted a ceremony to announce its participation in the compliance program in LOUNGE The HANIL, located on the eighteenth floor of the headquarters building. All executives and employees attended the event, during which Lee Jong-bin, the Director of Management and Planning, was appointed as the voluntary compliance manager who will oversee future employee training sessions on fair trade. Hanil Cement plans to use the program to discover potential violation of fair trade laws earlier in the business activities and processes, in addition to preventing such illegal behaviors before they take place. The company will also set up a related management system to fortify its compliance practices. Lee Jong-bin, the Director of Management and Planning, explained that the program was introduced to prevent violation of fair trade laws and strengthen transparency in management practices, and said the company will “make efforts to continue training the executives and employees and inspect fair trade practices, thereby preventing illegal activities and establishing a culture of mutual prosperity with its partner companies.”
